Architecture is the aesthetic design of spaces, buildings, structures,…the arrangement of volumes within space.
Architecture opts to combine aesthetics with practicality …
Art with robust construction…
Aesthetics is a matter of taste and mode of expression, robustness a matter of technical knowledge and delivery.
Aural architecture is all about a wisely selected bunch of background sounds to the life of the listener.
Throw your arms around imagination and quality!
INSTALLATION # 85
23d October 2016
This week the selections are varied (nothing new here) and recklessly freedom loving in terms of destination as well as of vehicle. This is exactly what music is -most of the time, or perhaps when it isn’t just pure magic-, a vehicle to other places, a means of travelling without moving when we need to escape or when we simply want to enhance the positivity of our nowness.
- Apollo Brown & Skyzoo
Erik Stephens (aka Apollo Brown) is doin(g) it from Detroit, Michigan, producing for Mello Music Group with varied marvelous results. Particulartly active during the last decade he has established a rich aquifer of collaborations and beat-i-ful choonz!
“As far as I’m concerned a good beat is a good beat, no matter how you made it. I don’t care if you use some spoons and some feathers. If you made a good beat that’s what it is, it’s all about outcome.”
- Sons Of Kemet
Formed in May 2011, crème de la crème of British Jazz Shabaka Hutchings filtering his Egyptian vibes and colliding with London-based bandmates Tom Skinner and Seb Rochford plus Theon Cross. Associated acts include Polar Bear, Hello Skinny, Melt Yourself Down, Mulatu Astatke and the Heliocentrics, and Sun Ra’s Arkestra. Fiercly explosive!
- Get The Blessing
Our usual suspects for groove through drums & horns, from Bristol with love and their latest "Astronautilus", They will be touring Switzerland in November, so don't miss out!
- Oneohtrix Point Never
This one is off Daniel Lopatin’s latest LP called Garden Of Delete (2015), via mighty mighty Warp Records. Fresh video to watch (out)!
These four awesomely dangerous and enchanting musical ladies from the City of Angels, have got a brand new album released called “Heads Up”. Tonight they play Edinburgh, tomorrow they take Manchester, then Liverpool, then London, through Paris and of course Berlin, to return to their native USA by the end of November. They also pass through this superb festival in Iceland (http://icelandairwaves.is/line-up/) A much desired WAR is on the road again!
