Architecture is the aesthetic design of spaces, buildings, structures,…the arrangement of volumes within space.
Architecture opts to combine aesthetics with practicality …
Art with robust construction…
Aesthetics is a matter of taste and mode of expression, robustness a matter of technical knowledge and delivery.
Aural architecture is all about a wisely selected bunch of background sounds to the life of the listener.
Throw your arms around imagination and quality!
INSTALLATION # 30
August the 28th…29th, 30th, September comes closer and closer. Feeding us with the kiss of early cool breezes, bridging the gap between summer and fall. Themes and moods come and go -as they please-, they swing and spin and (rock n’) roll! Delusions of desires and memories in a melting pot is the common heritage of contemporary (mainly) urban culture. The realms of chaos are immeasurable and so is the fantasy of any of us….
Take a light shining on the land,
Off the wall,
Up and down, free everything,
What you feel is all gone.
You can make everything
What you want with your head,
You’re OK and be aware
Everywhere with your mind.
CAN – Paperhouse
· Inner Sleeve
Inner Sleeve was formed by Simon Scott, once drummer of Slowdive, who parted amicably to pursue his own music interests. Happened in London in 1997 when Simon formed alternative/noise/electronica outfit Inner sleeve writing the songs, playing excessively loud guitar and singing lead vocals. After two singles and one album on Fierce Panda he split the group and drummed for Lowgold. Through Nude Records in 1999 ended after a critically acclaimed debut album, but the legend lives on.
· Inner Sleeve
Seeing double, are we? Don’t fuss, this here is another band with the same name..! This time though it’s a blast from the dusty vaults of the past British Television of the glorious late nineties. The program’s name was The Trip and it was most certainly living up to it!
From here to the sky and from there to the galaxies beyond, this is the kind of tune to engage connection with the unrecognizable creatures according to what we would expect to find out there. Once again this is our concern, and will testify that we might be misled to expect similar looking beings instead of unimaginable sensing organisms filtering our communication efforts and feelings.
· Capitol K
The year is 1999 and the world is closing to a spectacular ending!
· Four Tet
Kieran Hebden has been the sweet kid of lo-fi electronica adored since the days of FRIDGE, that awesome band of the nineties that made minimal lo-fi production (really) cool again! Mainly due to their outstanding and travelling-inducing tunes. What he’s been doing ever since the breakup of the band has been equally groovy in more electronica/dance terms. Here’s his “Evening Side” from the Morning/Evening EP from 2015 (aka this year). I’ll leave you fly out with it for this week. 😉
· Black Atlass
Is the stage name of 18 year old singer, songwriter and experimental producer Alex Fleming.
· The Black Dog
This is about practically about a supergroup of electronic music (sic) from Britain, founded by Ken Downie along with Ed Handley and Andy Turner in the early nineties. Hailed as legendary as their peers, like say Autechre, Aphex Twin, µ-ziq and LFO, The Black Dog came to define the techno movement known as intelligent dance music (IDM). They live still and their brand new album is a sweet glitch revelation.
· Titus Andronicus
Glen Rock, New Jersey, United States, the year is 2005. The group is named out of the homonymous Shakespeare’s play, and have quoted Neutral Milk Hotel and Pulp as stylistic influences.
· Tame Impala
From their brand new and fresh as the morning sea breeze album Currents, here is a pop monolith of a tune by these Perthian Aussies, with their psychedelic pop goggles on at all times. Prepare for dancing! Cheers Mamute 😉
A band of mythical outcome we love to love, from Cologne, Germany. Here’s a sweet track from their Tago Mago LP (1971) forever yours.
Slowdive tonight…this is what I leave you with tonight, this dawn…enjoy…
