For those of you who do not know what parabens are, they are chemical preservatives used in most cosmetic products found in your local pharmacy or department store. Research has shown that many parabens can be carcinogenic. Prolonged and repeated use of products containing parabens can be life threatening.
La Roche-Posay’s conscience decision to develop ranges of paraben-free products encouraged me to test out their cosmetics to begin with and I was more than satisfied. I began with an oil-free, paraben-free, face wash called the Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel that worked miracles for my oily t-zone and combination skin.
After repeated results, I moved on to try the Toleraine Soothing Protective Cream that was recommended by a pharmacist for an allergic reaction I had on my skin during summer. After three days of applying the cream on my face and neck night and day, it did exactly what it says does, it soothed my skin and cleared up my reaction.
Though I recommend that people with an oily t-zone apply the cream only to cheeks and neck and use the Effaclar Mat moisturiser on forehead and nose. If you have oily skin all round I suggest avoiding the Toleraine Soothing Protective Cream all together and using products from the Effaclar range which is more targeted for oily skin. The Effaclar Mat moisturiser limits the appearance of pores and reduces oil build up through out the day.
La Roche-Posay has a range of other effective and paraben-free products for men and women and appear to exhibit honourable transparency in their ingredients. They cater to all skin types and have different products that effectively target specific skin problems.
